VVEBS Home

VVDC panel is VVEBS open standards SIP-based, next generation IP SoftSwitch. VVDC is a highly scaleable, Telco grade solution specifically designed for Service Providers. VVDC offers true multi-tenancy making it ideal for IP-Centrex operation

VVDC is the key component in the VVEBS architecture, forming the base for a common Application Service Provision environment without multiple, disparate, proprietary applications and infrastructure components

Capabilities and Integration

Multi-Tenant

VVEBS applications are specifically designed to support multi-tenanted operation making VVEBS an ideal solution to Service Providers. Each tenant is assigned a "community" within the VVEBS database which partitions the system providing a discreet service for the tenant.

The platform can support a virtually unlimited number of tenants. Each tenant may organize their database accordingly, such as Division, Department and Cost Code. This hierarchy is reflected in system broadcasts and billing/reporting information.

Fault Tolerence

VVEBS delivers File Server fault tolerance based on the Stratus high availability server. The StratusT server is a "best of breed" solution delivering continuous "Telco Grade" availability to many organizations worldwide delivering 99 percent uptime.

Stratus is the only server vendor that tracks and reports actual uptime for its installed base of systems. ftServer Uptime Meter can be found on Stratus Home Page and measures the actual availability of installed Stratus ftServer systems worldwide.

Disaster Recovery

Disaster recovery, as opposed to high availability, requires the replication of the database, preferably in 'real time', on geographically remote sites.

The operational server named 'Master' and the remote site replication server named 'Slave'. The link between master and slave is a standard LAN connection for replication. Linking speed will determine the status of the remote Database in the event on a Disaster Recovery being initiated.

The switchover of site can be achieved automatically by software but the availability of call switching and the need to avoid an indeterminate state for the E1 circuits normally requires a manual acceptance of failover condition and also requires careful planning with operational staff to build the process into the global disaster plan.

Replication is done based on changes at a data level and does not rely on a full file transfer, making the process very efficient. Storix is configured to operate in "synchronous mode" where data is locked until both sides are updated - this ensures that data is always 100% accurate on both sides in the event of a failover even if the network is slow or gets congested, placing the onus on the network performance to ensure speed of service. Normally at least a dedicated 100 mbps full duplex link is required to support Storix in a large scale environment.

Utilization

VVDC base on Open Standards, enable integration with all major PABX and IP-PABX systems. This enables Service Providers to offer IP Centrex services to customers who want to use PBX solutions and provide consistent end-user experience across both networks
